Sticky blanks

About 8 months ago, I purchased a couple kits from the close-out table at the local Woodcraft store. Originally $32, I jumped at the half price for a Navigator pen with with tropical island poly blanks.

I was going to turn the blanks today until I discovered them sticky. I could easily leave an impression with my finger nail.

Is there a way to salvage the blanks? I love the look and never was able to locate a source. Haven't turned them yet so I don't know if it's just the outside that's sticky.

Thanks for any help.

You might try putting them in a toaster oven on 125-150 for twenty minutes and see if that will harden them I do this all the time with Newley cast blanks that are sticky. I would not recommend using your wife's oven it does create an odor.
