Here is a Sterling Silver Baron in Stabilized Spalted Pecan I got from Bill B... there was supposed to also be one in stabilized figured mesquite, but **it Happens.... OOPS... blew the side right off with a monumental catch...
This stabilized blank was a bear to turn.. real hard, had to sharpen tools a couple of times..
Since it was soo hard I decided to try something new... no actual finish... 2 coats of Cellulose sanding sealer, buffed with 0000 steel wool, then wet sanded to 12000MM and then Hut Plastic Polish and Ren Wax... came out with a real nice gloss.. not as bright as an actual acrylic pen, actually somewhere between a semi-gloss and bright gloss.. a nice compliment to the wood since it does not feel plasticy..
