I had surgery on my shoulder back on Sept 16th and so haven't been able to do any shop work. And as many people on here know, I was having trouble with my elbow and shoulder for awhile before that so hadn't done as much turning in recent years as I did a couple of years ago. Well the surgery also meant I was off work for about 5 weeks, and there are only so many movies you can watch before going stircrazy. So I started looking around my house for something to do. I decided to do some stenciling- figured if I couldn't be creative in the shop, I could at least be creative inside. I stenciled in a cat theme on my DVD storage cabinet and then did some vases of flowers near my front door. Yes, the wall is indeed painted teal! And there's this inset area that would be ideal for a vase of flowers, but as you can see in the latter pictures, there's a good reason I never put real or fake flowers there. But I decided that I could make it look like there were flowers there and so I stenciled these two vases.

No tricky camera angles- he is indeed a manx cat- only type of cat I've owned ever since I got my first one back in College! Once you get used to them, then cats with tails really look funny...

This was a fun project and it was neat to do something creative with my time. Now I'm eyeing other parts of the house, wondering what else I can stencil up!
