Stave Bowl

This is my first stave bowl. It has 16 staves, measures 9 inches at the top, 4.5 inches at the base and is 3.5 inches tall. The wood is some unknown glue up given to me by my son after he finished remodeling a house. The base is walnut.

Nice. Got one on the to-do list. I think Gorilla Glue had a black adhesive that I thought would create a similar look of the bowl.

I used medium CA for the glue up. The black lines were not intentional.

I will do more. One is already on process, but it turned out to be you big for my lathe, so a friend is finishing it. I learned quite a but with this one and still chose a better board for the next one. I've got three mahogany Christmas gift bowls I've got to turn before I can get to another staves bowl.
