Wife and I were at Cape Cod in late May, and saw some wooden spoons on display in a craft/gift gallery. Inspired me to try my hand at making spoons when I got home. I've made one-piece spoons by turning a spindle, and then using a special jig to hollow the bowl. These were done by making the bowl from a small square block of wood, and then making a separate handle with a tenon that is glued into a mortise in the side of the bowl.
Cherry, finished with several coats of pure Tung oil, and a final application of Howard's Feed'n Wax.
Fun project - doesn't take a lot of time
