I made some two piece spinning tops for my great grand kids. Stocking stuffers! These are two piece tops, as I didn't have enough 1.75" Cherry for one piece. So all the disks are Cherry, and some of the stems are Walnut, East Indian Rosewood (Thanks Wayne) one is Mahogany. Finished them with friction polish. I've been working on these for several days. I didn't realize how long these would take, and how much more skill is required, over turning pens  I found out very quickly. There was only one casualty. Not bad.

Those look excellent.
I'll put that idea on the list for next year.
I recon they just spin them with their fingers right?
Thanks for the post and idea.

They look great, Chuck...
Thanks John!
Looking good Chuck! Very fine. But wait, 11... you need more grandkids!
Thanks Mark! I've wondered how many babies FIVE grand daughters will produce before I die

Thanks Dale! Yes, just spin them with your thumb, and index finger. Don't make the tip too pointed. Round them off a little. Another note....The one with the knob on the end, has more wobble in the spin. I think it's too tall, so I'm going to take that off.
