Okay, I admit it. I like themed (gimmicky) pens. This is obviously a Spider pen from PSI, in chrome. I love it! It's a big, heavy pen, which I like. And I really like the spider motif. The blank is a Diamond Cast called Red Dragon, from Turners Warehouse. I've turned several Diamond Cast blanks now, and I really like them. Very happy with this pen.

Near as I can see by the photos, the top is solid, right? the reflection on it is a bit deceiving, though. My first impression was that it was a web mesh over a turned interior piece. I love gimmick pens, too. I've done more Steampunk pens than anything else, so far. I think I might actually have some spiders on order...

The web is actually engraved or molded.

Diamond Cast blanks are made by Tim McKenzie using diamond powder and Alumilite resin. They are carried by several other suppliers, but McKenzie Penworks is the owner / manufacturer. - Dave
I did not know that. I sure do like them. They're very messy, but turn easily and polish well.
