Spheres

Hi all,
I've been fooling around casting, turning, and polishing spheres.
At first I made them from wood and then tried Alumilite Clear Slow (that's what I had on hand). They developed cracks. I believe the resin set up too quickly. I've ordered some Entropy Epoxy, cure time 24 hrs. We'll see how that goes.
The photographs don't show the detail well, this is a dried flower arrangement...by my wife.

I love what you are doing. I wanted to try this with my birdhouse ornaments along with coloring the resin. Have a few different ideas when I can get back to the shop. Thanks for posting them and they do look great. Many ideas for them.

That's really cool! I wonder how well they would light up with an LED in the base?

Love the flower arrangement.... may have to "borrow" the idea for a future project...

I did a sphere in wood, think I used Bradford Pear for the sphere... it was about 4" diameter and nearly perfectly round, but not quite... I made a little stand to hold it.... a lady bought it at the Farmer's market, took it to a calligraphy artist down the avenue, then brought it back to show me what she had done... wish I had thought of it, could have gotten a higher price.
