Has anyone seen Corner Gas? That has to be right up there with Seinfeld as the best of television comedy. The casting is perfect and shows are funny without being mean. Absolutely LOVE it! In my next life I want to come back as Brent, read comic books and eat chili cheese dogs all day. (But how could he ignore Lacey???!)

It was a great Canadian show... right up there with Bob & Doug McKenzie and SCTV with John Candy. Too bad the lead actor of CG decided to pursue other projects and the show ended about 2 years ago.

Reminded me way too much of life growing up on a farm outside of a small town!

My father lives in a small town about 200km +/- southwest from where this was filmed, in a town of about the same size with population of ~ 400. He grew up on a farm outside of a smaller town (hamlet) with population of ~40, located about 50 km farther SW.

I was not a fan of the show either, but had watched it when visiting. British day time soap "Coronation Street" is a more popular choice when I visit - comes on right around "happy hour".

Hmmm, USA TV shows are bad enough to send me running so I've never even heard of the shows you mention. Of course I have not been to Canada since 1969 and we didn't watch any TV while I was there on a hunting trip.
