As I was stacking a cord of new firewood a burl caught my attention. I quit stacking and headed to the bandsaw. Here are two pens from that lucky piece. Lots more interesting than typical white oak.

I'm in the middle of my bandsaw build; hope I'm as lucky with my firewood pile once I have a way to cut it down (without a hatchet)! Beautiful pens, nice....

Nice find, Mark. Anyone who burns and turns needs to keep their eyes open. I have yet to find any burl, but, I've made a lot of spalted maple pens from my pile.
