Haven't posted for some time so I thought you might enjoy seeing my latest bowl. It is made from spalted hackberry and is 6.5 in wide by 5 in tall. Using my new laser hollowing setup I made the rim wide and undercut to about 1/4 inch and finished the bowl to that thickness. Now that I have a feel for what the hollowing tool will do, I want to try a vase next. As always, comments are welcome.

I like it! The shape and rim show the wood extremely well. I have seen bowls where the turner took so much time trying to create a new or fancy shape that they lost the wood in it.

Very nice!!
