My name is Todd and I live in Columbus, OH. A friend of mine got me very interested in the pen turning. I was lucky to get my grandfather's 1930's Montgomery Ward lathe that has been sitting in the garage the last few years, that he had as a boy. I also now have a bench top drill press etc. I was lucky to get a bunch of lathe tools as well. My dad then cut me up mahogany, birch, red oak, and some poplar. The poplar is my practice wood pretty much. I have now turned about 9 pens in total. My wife is also into the whole wood turning thing, but her focus lately has been on mini bats for some reason. Thanks for the great reception to my question on sanding. My avatar is a finial I made for my pull chain on the ceiling fan pressing together cocobolo, zebra, and tulip wood.
