Has anyone set up a Sorby to square their blanks. I think it has potential.
I was thinking about having a squaring jig made for the small platform.Never used mine for it but I would presume it would work. Wouldn't really be any setup. Put the angle at 90dg and go.
Exactly...Rick Herrell to the rescue. He fabricated a jig onto the small tool platform I purchased for this project. It uses transfer punches through the brass tube. Will post when received...it's in the mail. Rick is a genius. His work and how he deals. We're fortunate to have him on IAP. The offset portion is not shown. Will do so after receiving.Problem is you need to square the blank to the brass tube. The blank can be perfectly square but that doesn't help you much if the hole you drilled isn't straight. Now if you could engineer a jig that references the tube, you might have a winner.
