Middle child, oldest son, is moving off campus this year to a house at Ohio State. Said he needed a desk . . . I told him he could have whatever he wanted if we build it together. I've built a number of things with the kids, and can't recommend it enough. It definitely takes longer, but lots of good things come out of it. We picked up a black walnut slab last fall and got started early this summer. Just finished up a few days ago. Glad he didn't want any drawers. This was our first time working with epoxy. Now it will be in the living room for a couple of weeks until he moves in.

Wow. That is a work of art. And a great memorable story to go with it. I will bet your son never lets go of that desk!

Very nice build! That will serve him through college and beyond. My desk in college at Ohio U. was one of those cheapy built-in deals about 24x30.
Thanks for sharing from a former Buckeye.
