The result was this Emperor Jr. using double dyed black/gold burl. The most expensive hardware to leave my shop so far. The Rhodium and 22k gold are a treat. I guess I'm thinking if you build it they will buy it. We will see...

I my area this will be a $150 pen and I believe it will sell. If I have to buy the kit for full price next time the price would rise to $175. Still a good deal for the buyer.

Thanks

Beautiful wood and pen. The reflectivity on the finish is exquisite! That should draw top dollar.

After playing around with many finishes, it is CA alone for pure shine and protection. I finally have a routine that seems to work every time, year round. Luckily I have a ventilation technique that moves the noxious fumes somewhere other than my nose. I really want customers to be drawn in by the finish most of all. I do realize that kit, color, fit, blank choice go into a purchase, but if the finish is off the sale will probably not occur.

Thanks Hank and others for your kind words.

Beautiful pen Mark! Just a thought, if you purchased the kit at a discount and then base your retail on that you might find yourself in a pickle. If a customer sees and wants another one you have already established a price. A $25 bump is hefty in the customer's eyes. Suggest you base your retail using the normal cost of the kit. When you get discounts on product it give you a nice bump in your profit.

I personally would price your pen at the $200 range and then you have a bit of haggle room.

A beautiful compilation Mark. Blank, Kit, turning and finish all compliment each other.

I strongly agree with Mr Vic's comments.

Thanks for sharing, well done.
