They are going up in a place called Carraig Gheal. About 20miles(ish) from Oban. Another 5-6miles once you leave the tarmac. I'm back home now.

Nothi. New to me. I seen a lot of these up close. I live in San Antonio and go to lubbock often and see many of them along the way seeing that Texas Tech university is leading in that field.

I live in Lubbock, TX and do ALOT of awards and engraving for Texas Tech University and they have a very very good wind science program here. Of course the wind blows about 80% of the time here, so it makes since that they would figure out how to utilize it!

The town I live in has a manufacturer of those, and our Photographic Studio does some work for them. One of the last times I was photographing one the unit just down the lane had some issues with the gears in the head. As I am sure you know, they climb a ladder type thing up to the head inside that main structure tube.....I am not thrilled with heights and I began to sweat just looking up at it. It dark inside and VERY TALL, I certainly hope your occupation does not require you to climb up inside those!!!

Coincedence or what?????

A hundred thousand years ago when I was young and my fingers were loose, I used to compete playing Donald MacLean's Farewell to Oban. Great tune. (Maybe one in a million will understand)

First, Andy was staying in the same hotel as me and then Doug mention an old tune By Donald Maclean about a Farewell to Oban, ( which is where I was )
While I was up there, I popped a tyre and got a new one at a local place.
Check out the name on the slip!!!:biggrin:

Edit in; Also just added a pic of the Saw Tooth Edges on the trailing edges. The guys worikng on them told me it's to cu down the noise as the air passes over the edge of the blade. Each tooth is about two inches tall.
