Cherry logs, that is. A co-worker of my wifes learned that I was a woodworker and turner. He asked her if I wanted some cherry and this is what I got. 6 to 10" in dia and 24" long average.

Nice score! First thing I'd do .... seal the ends. :D
 
Great score! I agree with Al, seal the ends. If you do bowls, you can precut the bowl blanks then seal and it will help with the checking. One of those pices would make a dandy winged bowl.
 
Steve, they look a lot like the choke cherry trees that the town cut down and hauled away from my parents house while they were away. The trees had a real nice pink flower that really brightened up the yard. It's too bad the town had to cut them down while they were in full bloom, supposedly because they were dead(while in full bloom). Nice score, and great price.
