A few recent stoppers. Nothing special, just a rainy day thing.
Black Palm, Bois de Rose and Cocobolo.
Used cut-offs to make the cabochons fitted in the ends.

Adding the cabs makes the turning a bit easier since I can use a counter-bored hole to support the work with a live center.

The big problem is deciding what cut-offs to use for the cabs.. so many choices.

I CA glue a cutoff to a short piece of acrylic blank and turn them that way.
I Micro Mesh and polish before parting off.

I use a piece of double sided tape on the end of a small turned dowel to hold them when buffing.

It's a process but adds a lot to the stopper.

Good stuff James! Cabochons are like chips and dip...chips are good on their own...dip makes anything better!
