Walnut, donated by Travis Shipman, kits from Freedom Pens Project and a little beech from Billy B.

I'm trying to make the pens more interesting, I would appreciate any ideas with the following limits:
1. I am still very new to this (seven weeks)
2. The only power tools are a hand drill anda borrowed lathe
3. The blank material is the donated walnut (my agreement with Travis per his donation)

I think they need a little more color and there are many ways to do this. I've even heard of others using perm. markers. I like powdered pigment with mineral spirits. I think it would give the pens something extra.

Thanks for the positive comments. Jonathan, thanks for the coloring idea - could you elaborate a bit more? Chris - I drill with the lathe, not brave enough to try the hand drill.
