This is a first for me, I got a call from a customer that lives on a private island. He has a bridge going out to the island and is replacing the surface of it and asked if I could make a couple of pens out of the old decking. Never turning down a challenge, I went out to pick up some of the wood today and was really nicely suprised, it was 3.5" thick, 12" wide Ipe and he has a bunch of it for me to use, he also wants a platter made out of one of the pieces. I took half a truck load back to the shop today of it.

Those are going to be some HUGE pens and platter LOL.

If you are not following, he took a half truck load of wood to make a pen and platter.

OR - figment of his imagination due to no photographic evidence.

Great 'gift' of some excellent wood. Glad to hear that some of it will get a second life.

Now get busy, empty the truck, and go get the rest of it before someone else beats you to it.
