Hard to choose as far as appearance goes but the acrylic ones will keep their finish indefinitely whereas the wood ones won't.
I have discovered that I was missing a lot of sales with not using acrylic often enough for stoppers and pens. Although the majority of us (including me) like the natural beauty of wood it is a different story when putting it out in front of the public in craft sales. I sell way more acrylic and corian ones than I do wood ones.
