So far this week I have made my first bowl, turned out of cherry root, and then I made my first duck call turned out of cocobolo. I love the way my bowl came out, not to happy with the duck call though. But I guess for my first one it is passable lol.

Thank you for the words of encouragement, I really had a blast turning my bowl. Now the only problem I have is I need more wood to turn more bowls.

That bowl is beautiful. Cherry is such a good medium for bowls. What finish did you use? It looks like lacquer.

All I did to finish the bowl was use some sanding sealer and then about 8 coats of HUT friction polish applied in forward and reverse. In the Sun it almost looks hollow graphic.

Like the shape on the cherry root bowl, looks really pretty with the base. The cocobolo is just gorgeous. They are great turnings, congrats!
