After the Christmas rush I am a bit tired of making pens so I switched to making a few snake blanks to catch up on those orders(that were not needed for Christmas). The bottom two on the left are diamondbacks and the rest are prairie rattle snakes. Twelve total sierra blanks. I know, there are only 8 in the picture, the other four are in the oven and ready for the oven when the picture was made.
Painted the tubes on Wed evening, glued the skins on Thurs evening and did the casting sat afternoon. 12 blanks in 3 hours using two molds. One mold with blanks in the oven and one mold getting ready for the oven. No pressure...no vacuum... just ultrasonics with heat and a toaster oven. I will never go back to using the pressure pot. It is so much more fun now!!
Do a good turn daily!
