This is not pen related, But I am asking for your help. I recently started keeping bees and there is a small business trying to get started. they have entered a contest to win a $250,000 grant for small businesses. They need 48 votes by the end of the day today. they have been working hard to raise the total votes they need to qualify for the grant for a month now. I am posting this on the number one site I know to get such things done.

The name of the company is Blue Sky Bee Supply (Ohio)

I voted for them a couple of weeks ago and you don't get a bunch of spam from doing this.

You can vote for them at

www.missionsmallbusiness.com

Simply click above and go to the link on the bottom right to login, search for "Blue Sky Bee Supply" (Ohio) and then vote for them.

I woudl appreciate if you post here that you voted.

Think of this as a Woodturnningz or any of our other small suppliers out there trying to provide that above and beyond service.

Is this even real? Someone qualifies for a grant by doing this?

They don't get the grant for this. This is to make it through the first round. I guess this shows community support of a business. After this I am sure the REAL evaluation of the grant applications will happen. I have helped apply for grants that needed the support of one or more community organizations.

HI Cindy, I am usually around to at least poke my head in the door. I just don't post a lot lately.
wouldentu2, real as rain. It is one of those things that small business organizations will do. It brings attention to the organization due to the participation of the business owners trying to gain votes as well as benefits the small business. I have no idea what the chances of getting the grant will be even if they get the votes. But a $250,000 boost woudl do just about any small business a world of good. They have mentioned that if they got the grant they will be using the money to add employees to their company. So helping them win is helping create jobs!!!! How is that for a sales pitch?

So hurry up and vote, the job you save may be your own. lol.

My apologies to any of you that this appears to be a post out of nowhere. I am not a new person spamming for votes. Jsut search my profile and past posts to see the things i have done around this group. I agve up group buys basically because the dynamic of this group has changed as it has grown. I felt the group by situation was begining to make people vulnerable. Just growing pains but still very real growing pains.

Huge thanks to everyone that has voted. The posts from the business owner showed they needed 34 votes as of 10 this morning. Latest post showed they now need 18. That means they got 16 votes today and 8 of those came from memebrs of this group that have psoted they voted. I would not be surprised if half of the other 8 also came from this group from people that are not going to say so.

18 votes folks, I am going to lean on you.
I came to the most get off your butts and do something group I know. I also told others that is what I was going to do. I love keeping bees. But I will tell you they know nothing about making a great forum. I can't believe that a budding company cannot get the support of just 250 members. but sadly it is true. I have no doubt a business owner could get that and then some in this group. I left you all no time I know. But I know what this group is made of. This group casts 18 votes before it wakes up in the morning. I am looking for the IAP community spirit. I know you all are out there. The process is not jsut a couple of clicks. the organization wants to know people went a bit out of the way to cast a vote. So take a couple of minutes and show a bunch of grumpy old beekeepers what a forum really can be.

I believe this company has until the end of the day today to gain their votes. They only need 2 more. I know this group has been a huge part of the votes that have been gotten in the last 24 hours. Yesterday they needed 48.
As far as I am concerned this group did 20% for an effort that does not even benefit you. You all are the salt of the earth.
I may not participate as much as I used to. But my heart is always with you folks.

Thanks again and have a great weekend.

A personal hello to all my closest friends. You all know who you are.

Yes, Daniel is a real person and has been around for a long time. He has run some incredibly complicated group buys and has added a lot to my own knowledge of pens. He has been quiet lately but so have a lot of the earlier members. Good to see you back on Daniel and I hope all is well with you and your family.

Neil, So nice to here from you. Yeah I guess some of my buys got complicated. calling on you to retrieve merchandise falls well into complicated.
Glad to see you still hanging out. All is well with me and mine. Working to hard as usual.

A story for the rest of you. I actually knew Neil long before he was a member of this group. Before he retired from the Military. I heard about him in detail from his very proud brother who was a friend of mine on this group. So by the time Neil and I actually spoke to each other I felt he was a long lost friend already. Turns out I was not steered wrong. Neil has been the best of friends over the years.

I miss a lot of you and hope things slow down and I can get more active in this group again. Until then work calls.

Oh and Neil puts us at just one vote away. One day one vote.
Make my day folks.

I got an e-mail 3 hours ago saying they have all the votes needed. Thank you all you made a huge difference in getting them over the hump. Ya still got it, but then I never doubted that.
