I saw this done on the internet(RJBWoodTurner) and thought I would give it a try. Birdseye Maple with denim.

I made a second pen and sold it for $40 to a co-worker.

Looks great. I saw the same video and have made several. I've used maple, cherry, birch, and bloodwood. I love the look. Did you see his video where he used card stock? A lot of work, but again a cool look. I'd like to find some white denim to use in a dark wood.

I have seen that video and it is cool looking!
Maybe I need to make a run the my local thrift shops and look for different colored denim.

Great idea. I wanted to try denim micarta but never thought of combining it with wood. That'll help keep it together while turning.
