Skewchigouge

Does anyone out there use the Skewchigouge with any regularity? If so, please tell me about your experiences with this tool. Thanks.

Yep. They are also know by other makers as an oval skew. I love mine. It gets used for about 60% of my cuts.

I have been considering the Sorby counterpart to that called the spindlemaster. So this is interesting to me also.

I use the Skewchigouge extensively. It is the best tool I have for shaping deer antler. (a least for me[]). It is a very different shape from the Spindlemaster. The spindlemaster is made from flat stock while the 'Skew' is made from found stock. "Old Griz" uses the Spindlemaster.

Yes, I do own that tool, use it rarely. It acts like a scraper and leaves a great finish, but it is slow. If you are new, it can't hurt you-won't catch and can make a nice cove.
