Does anyone paint their wood pens?

I'm playing with my Hex Facet Jig and tried a design with a single facet down the side.
I'm not sure if it photographs well, but I really enjoy the feel.

I was thinking it would be fun to paint the facet before turning the pen shape to leave a colored streak.
Looking for any hints of kinds of paint that would be durable and high saturation. Or is that is just a bad idea?

Thanks!

Very nice. I think I like the blank the way it is. The more attention is drawn to the faceted design itself.

I love the design of your twist pen! For painting a streak could you cut the twists then go back and paint the portions you want colored, then re-run your jig over the facets you wanted to leave as plain wood to clean up any paint that doesn't bleeds over?

Thanks so much. I'm going to try this out using rustoleum spray paint... it's what I have in the garage.
We'll see if that does what I'm looking for.
