It may be simple but they sell. I made 3 last year with 30.06 on them and were gone in short order. Nice work BTW.

Good idea papaturner. Now try a rounded base instead the squared one.

Nice base. I did a similar project a few weeks ago with a antler tip that was all distorted and bent up, but when mounted to a piece of African Mahog. it worked as a great pen stand. If you show that one off I'm sure it will sell.
