Hello,
I recently made a slab style mold with caulk. It was not acid cure, but a the label said RTV formula, so I figured, what the heck, I'll try it. It worked just fine and didn't smell like vinegar. This is just my experience, YMMV.

RTV sealant (Room-temperature vulcanization) is a silicone copolymer that cures when moisture in the air contacts it.
It works very well in the automotive and industrial fields.
Permatex makes a good quality RTV sealant. It is available just about any place that handles auto supplies.
