So ... a lady and her husband donated a few thousand board feet of lumber to my wood working club for the heirloom toys we make for the Salvation Army at Christmas. The president of the club wanted everyone to make her a bird house for her generous donation. Being one that doesn't follow instructions all that well and the fact I don't have the proper lumber at the moment to make bird houses, I made this instead. I hope she likes it. I'll make her a bird house later when I get caught up and have some good cedar or similar wood for it. The woods in the pen are, blank - cherry, the inlays - redheart, osage orange and walnut.

Ken - That is awesome - I am sure she will like it. I have a special affinity for Cardinals - any more of those blanks around?
