Well, 2nd day of our first show ends in an ER trip.

Kids were playing out in the festival and my 8yr old ended up with a possible broken nose. Says he ran into someone...nose first. Had to tear down the booth in record time while my wife took him over to the ER.

Sitting in the waiting room now while my oldest went home with friends of ours.

What a night. But hey, a made enough at the show to hopefully cover the hospital bill. :frown::frown:

haha, funny but no. We actually bartered a 50-cal with the owner of the amusement rides for VIP bracelets for the kids. Free rides all weekend in exchange for a pen which he proceeded to buy 2 other things off the table.

The DS didn't come out at all yesterday and only for a little while today while we parked them in the shade with ice water towels to cool down.

It's definitely a broken nose. The ER doc took one look at it and said "yup, don't even need an x-ray". We need to wait a few days for the swelling to go down before going to an ENT to figure out if it needs to be reset and to which direction. She said that you just can't tell when it's so swollen up and didn't want to make it worse. Having us watch him for concussions signs for the next 24 hours but overall we came out alright. Home and in bed after 2 very long days.

Well, at least the 8 year old is tough... When our son was 8 he got 2 prongs of a treble hook stuck in his head (right above the ear)....we were on the boat, about 15 miles from the boat dock...

What ever doesn't kill us, make us stronger!.

Hang in there,
Tom

I'm right there with ya. I have five kids and have had to cut many things short to take them to the hospital. Anything from stiches to broken leg and collar bone. Best wishes. hope it does'nt have to be reset and he heals quickly.
