In another post I comented about my shop mate "Piper" my beagle/basset mix that likes to hang out in the shop with me.I also have a n english pointer "Buster". He hates the shop because of the noise as does my St bernard "Mabel". I also take Piper and Buster to work with me most every day. I run a Bike shop, they love to greet all the customers and beg for belly rubs. I even have customers who stop by just to visit the dogs:D. Great salesdogs. Any of you all have pets that hang in the shop with you?

Herbie is a little Yorkie and while he is a daddys boy and follows me everywhere, he is not allowed in the shop. My shop is 25 years old and unlike some of these nice clean shops I see photos of, mine has it's share of embedded dust. Herbie likes to root around under everything and gets around the shavings and shop dust in every tiny crack and crevice and sneezes his little head off!

Is this a bicycle shop, or a motorcycle shop?

We have a Beagle mix. He is always on my heals and loves to ride in the truck. He hasn't been himself this week, so we took him to the vet yesterday. They took blood to run some tests. The vet called this morning and told us he has kidney failure. All we can do is make sure he eats and keep him comfortable.

We have two Dobermans that hang out in the shop with us.
One of the girls, Teak, will lay on the stress mat behind me when I am working on the table saw. Ever see a black and tan Doberman covered in saw dust twoinches deep?

Sorry to hear about your little guy. I have lost 2 dogs in the last 2 years. A female pointer to cancer, she was the best dog I have ever owned. And a great pyranese to old age he was 13yo and 150 lbs he just gave out. He had a great life though.

I have 2 Border Collies, Rusty (a red & white) and Andi (a tricolor) that spend the day under my feet, either in the shop or at the computer. They especially like the shop as they can always find a stray piece of antler to gnaw on. Gotta blow them off with the air compressor before going in the house. That long coat can really carry some huge quantities of sawdust and Mama ain't happy with shavings on the carpet.

So sorry to hear this. I'll be thinking about you guys.

We have a Lab/German shepherd mix named Sammy, my shop buddy Whiskers got himself hit by a car here last October. He was the official "shop cat" But Sammy is filling that role really well as the official "shop dog".... :D

A little good news. My wife was doing some research last night and found a company that specializes in canine kidney and liver diseases. They have a program that includes detoxins and a healthy diet. We will have to make his food and he can only drink distilled water to reduce fatigue on his kidneys.
The program is a little expensive and I can't really afford it, but if there is anything I can do for my little friend, I will.

I have my best friend Sasha, she is a 6 years old Collie cross, she love to come into the shop with me, as soon as she goes into the workshop she puts her head into the antler box for a good sniff.:)

Funny thing, we have a cat that is afraid of any noise in the house or out side but will sleep on my bench while I am running table saw and rotors and not even flinch.

Tanner is a Shelty and Blue Heeler mix we got from a friend. It's the best friend that I have. Good for watching me turn. Doesn't make me nervous like when my brothers or sisters watch me. Heh![:p][:p]

Bailey is 50# pup of unknown mixed breeds. She likes to hang out with me and help herself to the antler supply. She has been known to snatch antler chips right out of the air while I'm turning.

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
