Nothing's on my bench at this present time, hell, at this present time I don't even have a bench. And I haven't had one for over two years now, and it's killing me. I hope to build one this fall, but it may not happen. And if it doesn't, I will have to wait until spring to build it.

A great big mess right now. I just finished a Graduate, Trim Line pencil, Aroma Therapy pen and necklace and my first ever 30 cal Bolt action in Chrome (I showed it to our Post Master and she ordered 3 on the spot). And I had the great pleasure of destroying a Vertex Supreme that really got me mad.

Nothing pen related and probably won't be untill after Dec. Scrolling projects for my shows. I did order some new kits so may have to try to sneek in a pen or two. Nothing extraordinary, just want to try the kits.

It is a Byrnes Model Makers Table Saw. Not cheap, very accurate, has size/motor limitations, well suited for segmenting, I have made many jigs to assist for my needs. All limitations are perfectly fine for my needs. I got lucky and was able to get this and the Byrnes Sander used for about 1/2 price. For what I do - they are perfect and I'd buy them again at full price. If you have needs for larger projects, there are other machines ava.

I'll post a link in a minute. Byrnes Table Saw.

Oh, sawdust is good - it pis..s off the spiders!!! đź•·.

Appreciate it.
Definitely a nice saw..I would love to have one w/ the optional sliding table, tilting table...but you weren't kidding on it being pricey..roughly 7 benjamins for the saw and tables.
I have a large tablesaw that I never use due to a physical limitation that makes me feel uncomfortable using it so I attempt to square up on my bandsaw.. I didn't realize by looking at your picture that its a 4" blade, I never considered getting one around that size but it makes perfect sense..we're dealing with pen blanks.
I found this one pictured at micromark, 2" blade...nowhere near the saw you have ofcourse...but I may ponder on looking into this...youtube videos for reviews first though.
And I'm sure I'll find more options now that I am aware of what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the info.

Boy, great looking shop! On my table at this time is a Hershey Kiss based band saw box in figured maple and the pieces for a black walnut bandsaw box.

Right now? Crayons, colored pencils, maybe some clothes to donate, and other random assortments of junk. I must clarify that my bench is currently sitting in my dining room. It has been in storage or the dining room for about 17 months. We moved in March 2018 and the new house had no garage or building. I'm currently building a 16x20 shop that has been a PAIN. Hoping to retake possession of my bench by the end of the year. By then I'll have to relearn the hobby I'm sure. Hopefully it is like riding a bike though

I have a Bonnie Klein lathe used for threading on my bench. Last month our local club did a demonstration on box threading. I borrowed the Bonnie Klein lathe and have done a couple pieces. It's a fun project.

Hi Mark. What dimension wood can you run through the thickness sander? Thanks.

Hi Mark. What dimension wood can you run through the thickness sander? Thanks.

6" x 1 5/16" are the spec. I would be a bit conservative on the width and go with 5 1/2". Also the drum is split - 2x 3". So you can have 2 different grits - each with a 3" paper. You can by a wedge to allow a continous size paper of 6". This is easily seen in the pictures on the website:

Byrnes thickness sander.

Last night I tried something I was previously hesitant to do - sand down chevron/segmented strips. I assumed previously that it would destroy the strips. In the picture below, the strips on top of the sander were about .107" off of the table saw (Byrnes of course...). Subsequently, I really needed them to be .095" With care, I was able to mill them down without a single failure.

I have two decent benches and 2 smaller ones. All look like Frankenstein got very upset with me after operating on him. I really enjoy seeing every one's though. Nice idea!

House and shop should be ready to move in Sept.Shop will be 28' x 40' with a 10' X10' mechanical room and a full bath with shower and a 16 seer heat pump
All electric will be via drop cords from the ceiling

Mostly disarray.
The casting bench is idle.
IMG_1706.JPG

The pen assembly bench is first in the door so it catches all.
IMG_1710.JPG

The mechanical bench has caught everything the pen assembly bench doesn't hold.
IMG_1708.JPG

The sorting and computer has 2 ideas in work and no computer.
IMG_1707.JPG

The new bench has been great and currently has all things x-carve related, except the x-carve and the computer.
IMG_1709.JPG

The focus has been around the X-carve work station.
