Anybody ever used one? know anything about them? im thinking about taking the profit from my Christmas sales and getting one. my lathe is, well, old and very jerry rigged. Amazon is selling them for $246.67 with free shipping, so its deffinately on the cheaper side.

thanks in advance!

Phil

I'm not too familiar with Shop Fox but if you're looking for a lathe in that price range, Woodcraft has the Rikon 1216 with VS on Black Friday for $279. FWIW.

wow, that is good! k ill have to check into that. i wasnt feeling too good with some of the reviews on the shop fox, but i wanted to see what you folks thought. Thanks!

Phil

I am new to turning, and bought the Rikon 70-100 (manual speed change) a liitle over a month ago, on sale at Woodcraft for $269. I've made 5 pens, and a wine stopper so far, and very happy with this lathe. You can now get the variable speed model for $10 more than the model I bought.

I think you'll be pleased.
