I just hit a winning $70 bid online for a local estate auction for this Sherline model 4000 lathe. Looking at the pictures it is easy to see that it needs a good cleaning and I'm just hoping the motor and speed control function the way they are supposed and the lead screw is good. I've been casually looking for a mini lathe for a while for light projects like turning bushings and mandrels so hopefully this will do the trick. Not sure what the piece circled in the second picture is so if anyone has an idea I'd appreciate any info.
Worst case I'll clean it up good and post it on marketplace.
