Hi All,

I made a Shaker Sewing Table this week, using cherry and quatersawn beech.

The table was made using a plan from Fine Wood Working, and the table resembles one I saw at Pleasant Hill KY.

The drawer sides are qs beech, half blind dove tailed to the drawer faces. The drawer slides on hanging runners.

The legs are dove tailed into the spindle base.

I turned the drawer pulls as well.

A couple more coats of Danish oil and then wax and it will be done.

Nice work. I like the wides spacing on the dovetails, gives it a different look than tyou would get with the modern jigs and such. Looks very good. Are you waxing with Carnuba?

Jim you have the 'eye' and the hands to truly make period pieces come to life. Superb 'piece' and your dovetailing technique is just beyond words. I'll stop my blabbering and just enjoy your pics (again & again).
