Well Leroy ... You could give ice fishing a try .... I understand it is quite popular in some northern states. Although to be honest I never have quite understood why.

Me neither... you walk out onto a frozen lake, on 6 inch ice, then cut a hole in the ice, build a fire in the shack, near the hole in the ice, sit out there with you feet on the ice, wind howling around you....???:eek:

They look interesting (Ice Fish) what kind of bait do you use?

There are some ice fisherman in Iowa...they may live amoungst us....the "normal" people still think they are either nuts or have "ice water" in their veins. Either way, a good warm fire and a DVD are my sport of choice this time of year!!!! Hang in there OK-Man, this too, shall pass.

Roy, you're welcome to come up to Enid and use my shop. It's a constant 62 degrees right now, and I'm too busy at work to get out there.

How many pound have you put on Roy? I bet Diane is keeping your stomach happy!!!

As for your 70 degree weather. Watch out, that could mean some severe flooding.

Yea, and until last year we used to say "Remember this is Delaware...." Guess we're all getting our comupance, aren't we?

The nuts(ice fishermen) are pulling the shantys off the ice, all the snow is making the ice unsafe around here

Roy;

I hear ya about the cabin fever...so sick of snow and cold and ice and snow and cold and ice..... Have shut down all of my construction sites and have been having alot of fun skiing and turning but I need to get back to work..and my poor dogs are so sick of only being able to run in the 3' deep channels in the snow that criss cross the yard......where is the February Thaw????

Roy, 70 degrees right around the corner? Pop one open for me!

But wait! I took a picture of some deer in our backyard, it means that spring is almost here???!!!??!!!

We got about a foot of snow a few days ago, and it was colder than hell last night. A little sun and temps in the low 30s today started a little melting. I'm looking forward to the nice weather.

It's probably better that you don't come up... My shop has never seen pens as nice as yours, and I don't want my lathe looking down on me.:biggrin: There is beer in the shop fridge in case you change your mind.

I think that the ground hog LIED to us he is in his hole laughing at us ..........

I tried to declare Feb 1 "badger day" this year... I figured he could eat the ground hog and declare no more winter...

But no-one would listen to me.

Around here, we are supposedly gonna hit 30 degrees on sunday... Considering thats 50 degrees higher than its been, that will be a heat wave!

So, yeah - i agree on cabin fever!!

I escaped!!!

I left Okmulgee at 9:45 Tuesday morning so that my 91 year old dad and his 86 year old brother could get back before any possible bad weather. Sat in Tulsa airport from 10:45 am till 5pm. Got out just ahead of the Tuesday night storm. Spent almost 3 hours in Denver while they de-iced, and de-iced, and got home at 11pm. It hit 75 degrees today and I'm LOVING it!

Don't get me wrong...I love Green Country...I was born in Shawnee...but I HATE SNOW.
