Executive style pen with brass, Padauk, and spalted Maple.
Also working on photo techniques. Any comments welcome.:biggrin:

That is one of the sharper looking segmented pens I've seen. The woods look great together and the pattern is nicely balanced. I'll aspire to something as nice as this.
 
The brass was turned down with regular lathe tools. You just need to use sharp tools and go slow. This blank was a bit of a challenge since it had a variety of hard and soft materials.
 
I like the pen. Very good job segmenting. However, the metal looks like copper in the picture Not sure why that would be. The brass should look almost like the gold. Kinda weird.

I noticed that, too. It could be the type of brass (there are different formulas, including "red brass").

That's just a small detail, though - it's a stunning pen, regardless!
