Ok, this did not go as good as I had hoped. I did learn a few things. This is actually the 2nd. The third is in glue up with titebond so we will see how that goes. So what did I learn? 1. segments work better with a solid backer. In this case I used some Purpleheart. This keeps it from breaking apart. 2. If you turn your backing plate under the finished size of your pendant, you can round the back during the orginal turning. 3. Burl does not like small (ie thin) segmenting as it does not have grain strength.

So this one is Purpleheart on the back. Bloodwood on the face. Segmented with maple veneer and brown Mallee burl.
