I have made a few of these style of blanks and have given them away because I was too scared to turn them myself. I got up the nerve and did this one and they are not that bad to turn at all. Jatoba with bamboo and purpleheart. All coments welcome Thank you.

Nicely rendered :) I like the pattern and contrast and it's obviously lined up well on the components and well turned. What were you afraid of, were you using a new glue or something?

The whole blank is glued together with CA. It's just that with all the pieces running the length of the pen and my not so good relationship with a skew I didn't want to blink while turning and find nothing but the tube on the lathe.
As for how I made it next time I do one I will post a pic of the blank before I turn it. It is easier to see than explain. Thank you for your comments.
