I must give thanks to Mickey Niven and his tutorial for the inspiration for me to try this one . This design gives the segments in the rings appear as if they are stitched together.
I went about it in a slightly different way to use tools I had on hand but the principle is the same.
Of course being a bowl with rings cut out on a the Ringmaster lathe it all started out as a flat board.
I didn't want to set up my HVLP spray gun to finish just one bowl so I used rattle can lacquer so will have to buff down the "orange peel" effect after the finish has cured .
