I think amboyna is one of the most beautiful burls available. A friend gave me this piece and I've held on to it for several years now. I waited until this past week to work with it. I paired honduran rosewood and fibre spacers with the amboyna and finished it out with Doctors Woodshop. Comments always welcome.

Ben, that is beautiful!

I have made several of similar segmenting and was pleased; your's is very beautiful!

Well done.

Great looking pen Ben !! If you want a little history of your wood, it comes from the East Indies, Borneo, and the island of Amboyna. It is also called Angsana and Kiabooca which means twisted wood. The wood has become a rarity in the USA, and wood of the same botanical classification know as Narra has replaced it in log form. Jim S

Beautifully balanced spacing of the segments and I like how they are subtle enough not to overpower the great amboyna. :good::good::good:
