I was going for a marble look with with copper veining. I don't think I quite captured it but I do like how it turned out. I used white opaque dye as the base so that tube didn't show through and mixed in pearl mica in an attempt to reproduce marble. The swirl was copper mica and I probably should have poured in layers rather than the white first then the copper. Learning something new with each pour.

I like it! As you said, it's not quite what you wanted, but it is pretty! Pouring is always a 'let's see what happens' event as you slowly develop your own techniques and methods. A combination of multiple pours, a little swirling with a rod in the mold, and developing your own mix strengths will take a bit. Just keep track of what you do on a 'recipe' card, so you can replicate it when you hit it! Vertical pouring versus flat pouring will also change your methods and results.

You did good! My first few blanks were terrible. You'll find with color casting that simple changes in how you pour will offer up different results…. Alternating colors, pouring from one divided cup, flip cup pours, dirty pours, pour over something, through something, holding the cup high or low when pouring, and don't get me started on resin temperature. The sky is the limit!
