This is a PSI Sculpted pen, Arbor version. The wood is good old oak. Finish is Pens Plus. I am very, very happy with how it turned out.

Many will Poo Poo 'good old oak.' But I have no issue turning it. It turns as well as many other open grain woods, takes a nice stain, and is CHEAP! Can be fussy, but hey, tool control comes with practice.

Very nice pen Jim. 👍 👍

I liked turning oak. Might pick up some more this summer at the TN family tobacco barn. The sticks used to hang the tobacco are many years old and make nice gifts.

I like open grain woods, and won't fill them. I want a wood pen to feel like wood when you hold it.
