i am going to build houses for my holiday train layout. i am kicking around using 1/8 inch baltic birch or 1/8 inch hard board. which will cut cleaner on the scroll saw?
baltic birch for sure. hardboard always ends up looking like you made it out of scraps. with the birch ply you have 2 good sides. that would be my first choice
Hardboard tears out pretty badly on the bottom. If you plan on putting that side in, you should be okay.
I would still recommend the baltic birch. In my experience (reasonably limited), hardboard seems to dull blades quite a bit faster than the birch ply or solid wood.
