scorched oak vesel

hello folks

here is an oak vessel which I have made recently.

it was turned a few weeks ago and set aside to dry then I carved it and scorched it with a blow torch before wire brushing to create a texture.

its 10" tall by 7" wide

Wow George, that had to be a fair size chunk of wood the turn it like that, huh...???

Interesting shape and finish. Did you coated it with anything after you used the torch...???

thanks George, yes I spray it with a matt acrylic lacquer to stop the charcoal being transferred to peoples hands or table cloths etc
