Okay. I finally bit the bullet. After seeing it come and go so many times on Amazon, I just had to jump on this one. I just order it five minutes ago. And now I have one question: WHY ISN'T IT HERE YET?!?!:bulgy-eyes:
 
Wow!

That was fast! Two days after placing my order, the grinder was at my doorstep! Mine was packaged in its original box, which was then put in an Amazon box.

I set it up, and it ran smooth and quiet. It had one difference from the one pictured at Amazon, however. The photo from Amazon shows two push-button switches for turning the power on and off. My grinder came with a toggle switch with a removalable center key to keep "unauthorized" fingers from flipping the switch. I'm not complaining, mind you; I prefer this switch anyway.

Can't wait to sharpen some tools! Thanks for the heads-up on this sale, Joe!:biggrin:

Mine has the same rocker style switch. Of course mine took 6 days to come. Now I'm jealous.
 
I used mine today to sharpen all of her kitchen knives. Had a chance top put my home made jig to use. Worked OK. Will do the trick till I can splurge and buy the good stuff.
I like the machine, I think it works just fine. Of course, I haven't used a Tormek or a Jet.
 
Geez, I must have exceptionally bad carma or something. I ordered the Grizzly grinder, also made (designed) in Germany, from Amazon on the 5th. It shipped on the 8th, supposed to be delivered on the 13th. Never made it even though the UPS driver indicated he left it by the front door. Calls to UPS, Amazon and Grizzly. After 2 days Grizzly said they would need eight business days to trace it. If it still didn't turn up by the 27th, they would send a new one. I hope the damnned thng is worth it!!!

It got here as advertised but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I have been having a lot of overtime lately and probably will be busy all through the end of the year.
 
Steve, Did you ever receive your grinder? I was just curious as I have been looking at it also if the HF unit does not work out.
