I got word this morning that my Dad passed away. He had a good long life! He was 94. He was a WW2 vet, and had been living at the Veterans Home for the past two years. Boy, did they take great care of him! He was joking with everybody even last Friday, which was the last time I saw him. Saturday we flew out to Kauai. My sisters are taking care of everything in my absence, and the funeral will be the day after we get back. My Dad was a carpenter most of his life, and I learned my love of woodworking from him. I'm glad to know he's now keeping company with another carpenter. Thanks for listening to me.

Scott.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Loosing a parent is one of the hardest things to go through (been there). It sounds like your Dad was a wonderful man and I pray those memories will help ease you grief in the coming days.

Scott,

I am very sorry to hear about your dad's passing. May you take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place now.

Respectfully,
Larry

I too want to pass on my condolences and may he rest in peace. I hope he runs into my Dad up there too and they both can share a carpentry story or two. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your dad. My dad passed last August and there isn't a day that I don't think of him. The pen turners association up there just gained a new member.

Father and maker of all, you adorn all creation with splendor and beauty, and fashion human lives in your image and likeness. Awaken in every heart reverence for the work of your hands, and renew among your people a readiness to nurture and sustain your precious gift of life.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Thank you all for your kind words. They ease my soul. I really appreciate knowing I have so many friends here.

Scott.

My deepest condolences go to you and your family in this time of loss. May God give him such a place that he won't be missing us here on earth. Take comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place, now.

I also offer my sympathies. I know what your are going through. I lost my mom of 94 in July and my daughter in November. Please don't respond, I just wanted to say, I do understand your grief.
