Ended up stripping the cap's inner threads for the finial. So to save the cap, I turned a delrin rod to fit inside the cap, glued it inside the cap, wait to dry, and redrill/retap to save the cap (shown on last pic). I also have to find a way to shorten the cap and still have the nib fit; clip looks short relative to the cap length. Just of few things to improve on, but overall I think I'm steadlily improving on these kitless pens. Used M12 and M9 size tap/die sets. Polished #5 Bock. Thanks for looking.
