Do you have an old a worn-out hacksaw blade? if you do DON'T SCRAP it re-use it, get yourself a flat timber board and screw the old blade to it, Use the back of the blade and a cutting tool too make fast straight cuts NO MORE Scissors needed.
If you want to Use a good used/new blades, you will be able to use both sides for cutting strips one side with a knife, the other side without a knife. I use the sandpaper strips for Sanding, and sanding finished blanks, removing CA glue, squaring ends on finished blanks, Too make the holes I use a 1/4 Hollow punch and a piece of plastic cutting board i borrowed from the kitchen.

Next Saving that old worn-out Wire Brush!! and making it a into a useful tool too. 1) Ruff up your brass tubes, 2) to Sand off those hard to reach CORNS OR DEAD SKIN ON YOUR FEET.:biggrin: this is BLISS!!
1st strip-out the leftover wire bits using pliers or your Dremel Then glue 2 different grits of material backed sandpaper to BOTH sides. i think i used 80 grit and 120. dont :confused:really remember ive been using it for about 4 or 5 years now.

Well, ain't you just so smart!!:biggrin: Those are great ideas. Thanks for posting. I found an old, shortened (about 1/4 in. thick) paint stirrer laying on a cluttered  work bench with heavy grit sandpaper glued to it. Hadn't thought about using it on tubes. Took just a few seconds to do some tubes, stuck between c/c bushings and put on the lathe. Thanks again for the ideas.

Thanks, John. I have a similar sandpaper cutter but the wire brush tube sander and the strip with holes for sanding ends of blanks are great tips.

Good ideas. Have you looked into plumbers rolls of sandpaper? They are 50 yards long 1 to 2 inches wide and run about $9.00 a roll. Since they are cloth backed they tear easily to any length you want. Saves a lot of time cutting.
